One of the major attractions of the place is the Pushkar Lake. Surrounded by more than fifty bathing ghats, the lake is situated in the Ajmer district of Rajasthan. A sacred water body for Hindus, this is the place where the famous Pushkar Fair is held. According to popular myth, Lord Brahma was looking for a place to conduct a religious ceremony, and dropped a lotus to guide him. The lotus fell on the site which is now the Pushkar Lake.

Another popular attraction of Pushkar is the Brahma Temple, which is among the few Brahma temples remaining in India, and is amongst the rare places to visit in Pushkar. Constructed of marble and stone, the temple has a unique architecture with a majestic red pinnacle. The temple is adorned by images of Brahma. There are many fascinating architectural aspects of this temple. The pillared outdoor hall is one such structure that will leave you spellbound. Visited by devotees throughout the year, the insides of the temple are built with stone slabs.

Another must see attraction of Pushkar is the Camel Fair. The Camel Fair is a huge exposition of camels, and villagers from the rural parts of Rajasthan arrive at Pushkar with their camels. Celebrated during the month of November, the Pushkar Camel Fair sees camels dressed up and paraded through field. Various contests such as camel races and camel pageantry are held during the fair. Besides buying and selling of livestock, the fair also witnesses several exciting competitions like matka phod (break the pot), longest moustache, camel race and aerobics, bridal competition and several others.

Man Mahal is another popular attraction of Pushkar. The largest royal place of residence, the Man Mahal offers beautiful views of the surrounding regions. The palace has a touch of Mughal influence in the design of the building. The palace is also called the Sarovar Hotel given that it is a world class stay offering an international ambience to suit all types of visitors.

Known for its South Indian architecture, the Rangji Temple is another popular attraction here. The grace and poise of this place of worship is unmistakable. It is one of the popular shrines in the region and experiences a steady influx of visitors every year.
